Success Story #2: Catherine

By TCAW Intern/Guest Blogger Michael Freeland

Another Take Charge/Age Well AcademySM student has begun to make changes in her life while enjoying what she has learned from class.

Catherine Hargrove, an Eat Well/Move Well participant, has developed a bit of a green thumb while enjoying taking care of her own small garden. Though still an amateur, Catherine has started growing tomatoes, zucchini, okra, and a few other vegetables, even using her some of the food from her garden in her recipes!

While eating the products of her hard work, Catherine has come to realize how difficult gardening can be on the body. However, gardening has not only increased her daily physical activity and made her a real competitor in the President’s Challenge, it has also allowed her to eat healthier.
